O mundo da música perdeu mais um grande artista na manhã desta sexta-feira, 21 de julho, com a morte do lendário cantor Tony Bennett.
De acordo com a Variety, Bennett morreu aos 96 anos na cidade de Nova York, EUA. O músico foi diagnosticado com Alzheimer em 2016, mas continuou a gravar e se apresentar, muitas vezes acompanhado pela cantora Lady Gaga, até 2021.
Bennett teve uma carreira que incluiu mais de 70 álbuns e clássicos como Because of You, Rags to Riches, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, One for My Baby, Steppin’ Out With My Baby e Fly Me to the Moon.
Sua música transcendeu gêneros musicais e, pelas redes sociais, artistas do rock e metal como Ozzy Osbourne, Keith Richards, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Joe Bonamassa e Alex Skolnick lamentaram a morte do cantor.
“Muito triste em saber da morte de Tony Bennett. Descanse em paz”, observou Ozzy Osbourne ao compartilhar uma foto com Bennett.
“Hoje perdemos um ícone dos ícones. Gentil, atencioso e como disse Sinatra, o melhor cantor de todos. Descanse em paz, Tony Bennett”, escreveu Gene Simmons, do KISS.
