Embora isso não queira dizer que os originais eram ruins, alguns dos listados aqui eram bem medianos, com seu verdadeiro potencial sendo desbloqueado por outro artista.
Entre as bandas que superaram as originais estão: Metallica, Type O Negative e Rage Against the Machine.
